About Me

My name is Jason Chau, and I am a student at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science, Class of 2019.

Among many others, I used to have the impression that optometrists were professionals who only prescribed and fit glasses. After many hours of shadowing optometrists, I quickly learned that they are capable of helping people and their vision in so many ways. I chose to pursue optometry because it is a rewarding career. I can instantly see the difference I make in people's lives by helping them see clearly again.

There are so many different diseases and disorders that optometrists can treat and I find it fascinating. I will be living in an exciting time to practice optometry, as the profession's scope of practice greatly expands across North America.

I made this website to help create public awareness about all the great things an optometrist can do for a patient. Please feel free to share my website with your friends and family so that one day we can end the stigma: "optometrists can only prescribe glasses".

I appreciate your time and attention to look through my website. If you would like to support me and my cause, you can help me by making a small donation below. Donations are completely optional and will go solely towards keeping my website running. Thanks!
